Foliowe szałasy miejskich nomadów i zabezpieczone kamerami domy. Zaimprowizowane punkty odzysku metali wybuchające nagłym płomieniem palonych kabli i niedzielne, familijne grille.
A Chain of Events
The medium of photography is inextricably linked with the process of an individual perception of the passage of time in the works by Paweł Kula.
"I am interested in the borderlands of photography, mistakes in technological processes, actions beyond the programme of the camera, images found by chance, and those which do not allow themselves to be preserved, as well as non-camera techniques. I also use natural photo-sensitivity - plants, afterimages, phosphorescent phenomena. What we can see is often not identical with the existing recordings of the world; what fascinates me in artistic acts is the appearance of images which are far from people's usual visual experiences.
The phenomena of photo-sensitivity and optics, as well as the prehistory of photography and film, have inspired me to create unusual equipment for projection, recording and the mechanical reproduction of images (such as the so-called zoetrope, the camera lucida, the camera obscura, the pantograph, the caleidoscope, and suchlike). These archaic optical toys function in a new context, becoming an element of my artistic acts. I exploit the potential of these experiences together with Maria Stafyniak in our Society for Taming Art, conducting artistic workshops and working on the idea of complementary development, and of democratising creativity by communing with art."
