Among the most ephemeral genres of contemporary art, performance raises questions about the nature of the work itself and the manner of its documentation. Nevertheless, performance art exhibitions in a museum setting are increasing in number and museums continue to add works to their collections. A Polish-German conference, Art of Action – The Moment and the Passage of Time, examines performance art in this theoretical context and the consequences that result from its documentation and treatment.
